lyrics
Seventeen (words and music Dylan Hudecki, Tony Evans, Chris Marks, 2012)
(words and music completely improvised-first take, live off the floor)
I remember you, i was 17
i use to come to your house, and we use to dream
you were one of the first girls, that would talk to me, that way.
i was 17, dreaming of the life
the whole world in front of us, every night
you were gone in a flash, I'm sure you're out there, i'm sure you're out there
i'm sure you're out there, with a kid, and a house, and a car, two mortgages and a credit card debt. maybe not. maybe not.
maybe you were gone at 27, they found it in your stomach and then it moved to your brain, all your friends and family, they all came to your funeral, and I no idea, cuz we lost touch at 17.
maybe you're out there somewhere, I never said I would marry you, even though you told me to, even though you told me to. yeah you told me to.
i was 17, dreaming of the life
the whole world in front of us, every night
you were gone in a flash
